Week 35 - Mission conference and a new companion

Well hey everybody!

Great week this week- kind of crazy like always but that's just missionary life right?

Guess I should start with last Monday- realized I sent a bunch of pictures at the beach and didn't really talk about that at all. So yeah we went to St Malo, it was really really cool. Sunny and beautiful, a little cold but super fun. Got some ice cream (basically the reason we went was this place called Sanchez that a member told us about) and as we're eating it I was like "we have to come back just for this!" and the soeurs told me there's one in Saint Anne... in Rennes.... haha but the city was cool and there was other fun stuff besides just ice cream.

Tuesday we had district meeting- Sr Back and I were assigned the main meal so we ordered Dominos because we had no food (no grocery shopping for three weeks... not great) it was a little expensive but hands down the best I've ever eaten at a district meeing. Then we headed off to Nantes for exchanges. It was really good to get to talk to Sr Anderson. Nantes is beautiful. and HUGE. Loved it. A drunk/high out of his mind guy on the tram passed by us TWICE without seeing us/talking to us and was bugging EVERYONE else until some lady finally started talking to him and gave him a cigarette. Angels among us guys. 17 Miracles (if you don't get that reference go watch 17 Miracles, miracle 1.)

Wednesday saw my girl "E" again. She's the best. Not really progressing and it breaks my heart because she's so awesome but we're going to keep trying to help her and make her feel loved.

Thursday we finally got to teach this cool lady from Chad that contacted US on the metro. We had given her a Book of Mormon but hadn't been able to see her again. She's super cool. When we were trying to fix the next RDV she was like "you can come tomorrow if you want?"

Friday. Obviously went and saw her again, started teaching Retab talking about prophets and how great they are, and she's like "they're all dead though" and so we were like "NOPE" haha. We talked about how there's a modern prophet and the Joseph Smith story and she was like "wow, no one's told me about this, I haven't heard this news!" Haha, that's why we're here!

Saturday we spent ALL day at the church. Literally the whole day. There were two baptisms, one of an 8 year old and the other for one of the elder's amis, and no one cleaned the church this week so we went to do it before the first baptism (they didn't have them together because the ami is chinese and speaks English not really French).

It was cool. I love baptisms. They're seriously what we live for. The ami that got baptised is seriously the sweetest guy on the planet, he's had a rough life but it's just amazing what happens when you get some genuine love from others and start to understand how much God loves you and how much He is really, literally, there for you.

Sunday was good, had dinner at the bishop's, he's hilarious and we LOVE their family.

Monday, yesterday, went to Paris for MISSION CONFERENCE, it was sooo good. Didn't get our iPads but not too mad about it. A lot of the cool things (like the area book) aren't going to be on it for us because of privacy laws in France so they'll come when they come.

TRANSFERS -- almost forgot! They're closing Rennes Soeurs 2 (my equipe) and combining us with Rennes Soeurs 1 so Sr Stevens and I are companions! And we're in a trio with Sr Walton, my LOVE. So I'm excited. A little nervous about the trio thing but it'll all work out.

love you guys so so much!
have a great week
sr hansen
